Christmas is about opening our hearts..

Christmas is the loveliest time of the year when snowflakes are falling and peace settles over the fields.
The snow goes crunch under our feet and there is the perfect imprint of a bird's feet in the snow as he scampers across the field in search of food.
 We will snuggle in front of the fireplace and listen to the crackling fire and sip a cup of tea and envision sugar plum fairies dancing in our head.
 It is a wonderful time of year.

Jinks the Halloween cat

                    "Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;
               Lengthen night and shorten day
                          Every leaf speaks bliss to me fluttering from
                                    the autumn trees." -------;Emily Bronte

Electra the witch

This beauty was made using a pattern by Sylvia schorr.
 She is 14 in. tall on a wooden base. Sorry but she is sold.

My Lord,

The words of this hymn by Madame Guyon are especially meaningful because they speak of her attitude during and after many years of imprisonment for her beliefs.

My Lord, How full of Sweet Content;
I pass my years of banishment!
Where'er I dwelt, I dwell with Thee,
In heaven, in earth, or on the sea.

To me remains nor place nor time;
My country is in every clime;
I can be calm and free from care
On any shore, since God is there.

While place we seek, or place we
'The soul finds happiness in none;
But with God to guide our way,
'Tis equal joy, to go or stay.

Could I be cast where Thou are not,
That were indeed a dreadful lot:
But regions none remote I call
Secure of finding God in all.
--Madame Guyon (1648-1717

Wind chimes announce the arrival of a sharp hint of autumn air; as do the orange mums that sway like awkward children beside licorice-scented marigolds and winter-berry holly leaves that sift to the ground in each lifted breeze.

"Fall leaves, Fall flowers, sway ;
lengthen night and shorten day
  Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the Autumn trees."
-----Emily Bronte

With fall just around the corner; I thought it was time to introduce the first of my fall  spooks.  These little munchkins make great collectibles; 12 -13 inches tall from hat to bottom of skirts.

Christmas in July

What a beautiful day it is. We have very warm weather in July with a gentle mist in the air. How can it be so nice at the moment with a storm brewing in the background. I hear distant thunder as we have a storm moving in with winds. It will pass quickly I am sure.
  My flowers will have their watering for the day after the rains come down.
  I am working on my Fall and Christmas dolls now. Yes; Christmas as it will be a short time before it is upon us once again. I have some new Santa dolls listed now on Ebay for the (Christmas in July sale.)
   I made this wonderful witch doll and pattern for those who enjoy sewing. She is 22 inches tall counting her wired hat. You can find her in my ebay store.
I have the finished doll and pattern listed.

This Santa is 22 in. tall and is aged with tea. (SOLD)
Presently listed on ebay. (SOLD) (Christmas in July)

Relaxing in the good olde Summer time

Just before dawn the birds awaken me with their cheerful chatter as they begin their daily ritual of nesting and searching for food.
I pour my morning cup of coffee and open the door to look out over the lawn to see a couple of little cottontail bunnies hopping about. The morning mist fills the air and evaporates as the morning progresses.
The weather has been very sultry and hot this week. We had a sudden rain storm last evening with some high winds. That happens a lot in the hot steamy south.
 I love my mornings as I walk through my house and plan my day. Somehow, they never seem quite long enough. Some say it is a time but that may be just a dream.
  I decorated my house yesterday for the 4th of July as I do every year. My collection tends to grow each year with handmade items I make and some I purchase.
I will share a few pictures here of my home d├ęcor.

Lone Cyprus

 I love the ocean and used to visit Monterrey and  Carmel by the Sea  often. I have had the luxury of visiting this sight on several occasions.
This tree is over 200 years old and is still standing.

I stand unmoved
 by the shifting winds
of popular opinion.
  I stand untouched by
the blistering heat
of disapproval.

Waves may crash
against me
storms may rage
around me
All whom I trust
may abandon me

I stand firm in my beliefs
my faith a beacon
in the dark
